Description
Pure Cape West Coast Honey
Harvested from our own beehives near Langebaan, PJ’s Honey is raw, unadulterated, non-irradiated and packed with only its natural flavour. After harvesting, we spin out the honey, let it settle for a day to allow any impurities like fine pieces of bees wax to rise to the surface, which we remove and filter under gravity. Sometimes a piece of propolis slips through, but also propolis is packed with antibacterial properties!
Our bees forage across the pristine landscapes of the Cape West Coast adjoining the West Coast National Park and adjoining nature reserves, gathering nectar from the indigenous Fynbos growing in the Sandveld, Renosterveld and Duineveld biomes. This rich botanical diversity creates a honey with subtle floral, herbal and citrus notes that vary naturally from season to season. Even for us beekeepers, the taste of each harvest is always a surprise and never the same
Unlike mass-produced honey, our honey is never blended or artificially altered. Every jar reflects the character of our passion and the environment in which it was produced.
Whether enjoyed on toast, drizzled over yoghurt, stirred into tea or used in cooking and baking, PJ’s Honey delivers authentic Cape West Coast flavour straight from the hive.

Origin: Langebaan, Cape West Coast, South Africa
Crystallisation will occur if the nectar gathered were richer in glucose. ONLY REAL HONEY CRYSTALLISE!
Storage instructions
Store in a warm dry place. Should it crystallise, warm a pot of water to about 39°C and place the honey jar in the warm water. Place the lid on top of the pot. Wrap a blanket around the pot to retain as much of the warmth as possible. After about 30 minutes, shake the honey, and repeat the process. Your honey will become fully decrystallised again, without damaging the natural enzymes it contains.

Usage Suggestions
CRUCIAL SAFETY NOTE: Never feed raw or unprocessed honey to infants under 12 months old. An infant’s digestive system is too underdeveloped, and a rare but severe illness of Infant botulism may develop
- Morning wellness booster: Stir one tablespoon into warm water with some lemon, or chamomile or Rooibos tea. Keep liquid below 40° C to preserve those active enzymes
- Pre-workout energy fuel: Spread on whole-grain toast with peanut butter and eat 30 minutes before exercising for sustained glycogen levels.
- Natural salad dressings: Whisk with some apple cider vinegar, olive oil and Dijon mustard. This beats sugar laden store-bought dressings
- Breakfast bowl sweetener: Drizzle over plain Greek yoghurt, oatmeal, mieliepap. Pair with nuts to slow fructose absorption
- Smoothie nutrient enhancer: Blend into green smoothies to mask the bitter taste of Kale or spinach. It adds sweetness, antioxidants and natural thickness.
- Skincare integration: Onto damp skin, massage a R5-coin sized amount of honey, then rinse. Its natural humectants draw moisture into the skin
- Acne spot treatments: Dab directly onto active blemish and leave for about 15 minutes. The antibacterial properties reduce redness, and clear pores.
- Hydrating lip mask. Apply a good layer to chapped lips before bed. It locks in moisture and heals cracks overnight
